Mitsubishi Outlander Towing Capacity

The Mitsubishi Outlander amazes you with its impressive capabilities, technology, and design while remaining extremely affordable. You and your family can explore and adventure with the capabilities of the Mitsubishi Outlander. Now, what is the Mitsubishi Outlander towing capacity and why is knowing the limit important?

The Mitsubishi Outlander towing capacity, or “the maximum weight your vehicle is able to pull while towing”, is dependent on the trim level and the accompanying engine. Adventures may involve a little extra like a trailer or boat. Understanding the weight limit and trailer tongue max weight can help plan for the future as well as save you from damaging your Outlander.

Though this compact crossover has AWD available in all trim levels and standard on the Outlander GT, towing capability depends on which of the two engine types you have in your Outlander. The two engine types are:

2.4L MIVEC SOHC 16-valve Inline 4-Cylinder: 166 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque

3.0L MIVEC SOHC 24-valve V6: 224 horsepower and 215 lb-ft of torque

The 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander and 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander have the 4-cylinder in the ES, SE, LE, and SEL trim levels. The V6 engine is in the GT trim.

With the 4-cylinder engine, the Mitsubishi Outlander maximum towing capacity is 1,500lbs with the trailer tongue maximum weight of 150lbs.

The Outlander GT with the V6 engine can tow up to 3,500lbs with the trailer tongue max weight of 350lbs. An impressive towing capability for this compact SUV.

Pairing with the Mitsubishi 10 year or 100,000-mile Powertrain warranty and its completing gas mileage, you can’t go wrong with the Mitsubishi Outlander.
